Fort Frances – Northwestern Ontario’s Rainy River District
La Place Rendez-Vous is nestled on the shore of Rainy Lake, located in Fort Frances Ontario, which is the largest town in Northwestern Ontario’s Rainy River District. We are located just East of Thunder Bay Ontario, West of Winnipeg Manitoba, and North of International Falls Minnesota, in the heart of Ontario’s sunset country.

Fort Frances is the largest town, in the Rainy River District, and offers a number of shopping, dining, and historical options available to residents and visitors. Visit the “Great Canadian Main Street” for unique shops and stop into the Fort Frances Museum to explore the history of Fort Frances.
First Nations Communities across the Rainy River District
La Place Rendez-vous neighbours Couchiching First Nation, located along the shores of Rainy Lake. The Rainy River District is home to nine first nations communities that all contribute to the rich, cultural heritage of Fort Frances and the Rainy River District.

Fort Frances, and the Rainy River District, is a lake lovers paradise! With Rainy Lake, Rainy River, Lake of the Woods, Clearwater Lake, Lake Despair, and many others within a short drive, there’s plenty of fishing, canoeing, kayaking, boating, and camping for everyone!
La Place Rendez-Vous
La Place Rendez-Vous is located right beside Point Park (which has a nice beach and playground area). Just a short drive east, on highway 11, is the Noden Causeway. This Island-hopping bridge structure is 6,017 feet long with the highest span clearing the water by 40 feet! The view is breathtaking and the scenery is spectacular.
